The
Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want.
He
makes me down to lieIn pastures green: he leadeth me the quiet waters by.
My soul he doth restore again; and me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness, ev’n for his own name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, yet will I fear none ill:
For thou art with me; and thy rod and staff me comfort still.
My table thou hast furnished in presence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint, and my cup overflows.
Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me:
And in God’s house for evermore my dwelling-place shall be.
(Psalm 23, Scottish Psalter)

Elizabeth...Thank you for stopping by...I love playing around with my camera and Picasa editing enhances the attempts, too...I like to use the Lomo-ish effect quite a bit...it enriches the photos. You can find the Scottish Psalter online...it should be public domain, since it was first published in 1650.
DeleteOh, I love this! I love those two little black lambs--and would love some of their nice black wool to spin... And how the psalm in the Psalter's form blesses me this morning--as I sit here and sing it! Just what I needed at the point when I came here. A blessed week to you, too!
ReplyDeleteSlyvia- I saw on you blog that you used to raise sheep. How cool! I found the copy of the Psalm 23 Hymn in one of my devotions...I don't know the tune, but liked the rhyme scheme. Glad to be a blessing!
Deletei'm in love with those sheep, Kel. absolutely! {and with The Shepherd, too!}

ReplyDeleteJody- I had never read it before either, apparently it can be sung...I'll have to do some more research on the Scottish Psalter...
DeleteOh i'll just bet this has been set to music. I love the rhymes. Your sheep pix are priceless. I'm afraid I'm a sheepish photographer! Glad you're not.
